Associated Festival: Field Day this Saturday at London’s Victoria Park

It’s almost that time of year again, with our associated festival Field Day, taking place this weekend in London’s Victoria Park! With such an incredible line-up as always, this year set to be another fun day (in the sun, hopefully!), for those lucky enough to be taking the trip to our capital city this Saturday.

As I write this I’m sat at an airport waiting to go and see this band at SXSW, in view of this I cant tell you that they are great live, but I’ve seen them on youtube and I clapped afterwards, that’s how bloody good they are, I clapped at a computer. Oh the cover The Band too, that’s good enough for me so you’ve got no room for complaints.

When we announced this on facebook we got 35 ‘likes’, I’m pretty sure it was from genuine fans, although the picture we put up was of that grumpy cat that everyone likes posting, we is pretty cute though. Anyway Vondelpark are on R&S and are a big deal, even bigger deal than an internet cat, that may or may not still be alive as we go to print.

Night Beats are on Trouble in Min drecords, they’re from Seattle and look pretty dirty, one of them looks like he’s walked off the set of Dazed and Confused or Two Lane Blacktop, it’s a bit psyche, if you like Black Lips and Elephant Stone and all that jazz you’ll like these filthy little scoundrels.

Glasgow based Father Sculpter have been constantinly compared to The Smiths and after listening to them I can see why….they sound like The Smiths, if you don’t like the Smiths its likely you might not like this, but its free and we wouldn’t book a rubbish band.
