Department M were a pretty big deal at Live at Leeds this year, and no response either, lead singer Owen was the front person in Grammatics and they were top notch. His latest musical venture is a lot more experimental but no less satisfying and beautiful.
The latest to join the every extending string of dark acts coming from the UK. File next to Os Mutantes, Hookworms, Moon Duo, The Horrors and Drenge, oh Wytches are also playing Beacons!
Ray-Ban are putting on a free night with ace guests (both are playing Beacons too!) go here to apply for tickets –
Fair Oh slatest track ‘Everything is Dancing; has a very eastern feel to it, think soundtrack to Daarjeeling Linited mixed with dare I say it Foals (they’re gonna hate us for that, sorry guys). Blood Sport are pretty gnarly sounding, a little scary, but they’re young and quite skinny so don’t be too afraid.

Her dark tales of lust, loss and vengeance bring to mind Broken English-era Marianne Faithfull and are due belated critical acclaim.
It’s almost that time of year again, with our associated festival Field Day, taking place this weekend in London’s Victoria Park! With such an incredible line-up as always, this year set to be another fun day (in the sun, hopefully!), for those lucky enough to be taking the trip to our capital city this Saturday.
Head over to the Field Day Facebook page for further details and announcements.
As I write this I’m sat at an airport waiting to go and see this band at SXSW, in view of this I cant tell you that they are great live, but I’ve seen them on youtube and I clapped afterwards, that’s how bloody good they are, I clapped at a computer. Oh the cover The Band too, that’s good enough for me so you’ve got no room for complaints.
When we announced this on facebook we got 35 ‘likes’, I’m pretty sure it was from genuine fans, although the picture we put up was of that grumpy cat that everyone likes posting, we is pretty cute though. Anyway Vondelpark are on R&S and are a big deal, even bigger deal than an internet cat, that may or may not still be alive as we go to print.
